About George Washington Lodge #181

Our History

George Washington Lodge #181 has been a cornerstone of the Louisville, Tennessee community for many years. Named after our nation's first president and a distinguished Freemason, George Washington, our lodge carries on the proud traditions of Freemasonry while serving our local community.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Our members are joined together by a shared commitment to values based on the great principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.

Our Three Core Principles

Brotherly Love

We practice understanding and respect for each other, which naturally extends to all mankind. Every Freemason knows that all men are the children of one Supreme Being, and therefore, all are brothers.

Relief

We are taught to practice charity and care for our own. We help each other in times of need and contribute to the welfare of our communities through charitable works and support for those less fortunate.

Truth

We strive to be men of honor and integrity. We value education, enlightenment, and the pursuit of knowledge. Through Masonic teachings, we work to improve ourselves and become better members of society.

Our Lodge Activities

George Washington Lodge #181 meets regularly for stated communications, degree work, and fellowship. We also participate in community service, charitable fundraising, and social events that bring our members and their families together.

Community Involvement

Our lodge is committed to making a positive impact in Louisville and the surrounding area. Through various fundraisers and charitable activities, we support local causes and help those in need within our community.
